The FTC has alleged that Zoom has lied to consumers about offering end-to-end encryption since 2016, a service that is really only available through their ‘Connector’ product. This is especially concerning for customers in the healthcare industry that were promised end-to-end encryption for HIPAA compliance. As a settlement to the complaint, Zoom has agreed to “establish and implement a comprehensive security program, a prohibition on privacy and security misrepresentations, and other detailed and specific relief,” according to the FTC.
